Description

CH33 teak dining chair by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen & Son 1950s, set of 2

About the item

Set of elegant Danish CH33 dining chairs by the infamous Hans J. Wegner.

Originally designed in 1957 by Wegner, the chair is strongly characterized by its organic shapes, clever connections, slightly curved back feet and oversized oval backrest. The design seems to have been derived from Japanese Takayama design philosophy.

The chairs in question are Carl Hansen & Son 1950s productions, as exemplified by the original stamp below the seat and feature a full teak construction.

About the condition

The chairs are in good vintage condition, with some obvious signs of usage and discolouration. The seat has a couple of very minor repairs in the plywood top layer.
