Description

Faraone glass and marble dining table by Renato Polidori for Skipper Italy 1980s

About the item

Very rare design by Renato Polidori. Renato Polidori worked alongside Angelo Mangiarotti at Skipper Italy. In contrast to Mangiarotti his designs are considerably less well known. Likely because the products of Polidori have been produced and marketed only in limited numbers. Hence, exclusivity and uniqueness is safeguarded.

The table consists of 4 brown marble columns with slides. These slides are meant to support the metal connecting bars. The connecting bars fall into each other in a 90 degree angle with every column. On top of this structure, a thick glass plate rests.

The design and construction is simply yet the visual effect is very appealing. The combination of marble, metal and glass seems like a timeless combination of materials.

The provenance of this model is provided through the original brochure enclosed in the pictures.

About its condition

The table is in good vintage condition with only 2 chips present at the outer end of the glass plate. This plate will be replaced with a new similar one if the customer would like this too. The marble has some superficial marks of use.
