Description

Impressive sculpted walnut and leather credenza Gavina Italy 1970s

About this item

Impressive sculpted credenza of unknown designer by Gavina SpA.

This credenza was likely commissioned specifically for a client since the model isn’t traced back in official literature. It does bare the original Gavina sticker.

The credenza is strongly affiliated to the design style of Florence Knoll and Carlo Scarpa in the sense that the leather pulls seem to be based directly on Florence Knoll while the sculpted shape seems to reflect Carlo Scarpa.

The credenza is beautifully sculpted both at the front and top, providing for an interesting contrast. The credenza has beautifully sculpted leather pulls for all the hinging and sliding drawers.

The credenza has a total of 4 sliding and 3 hinging drawers and is built in very good quality out of solid Italian walnut (Noce Nationale).

The sideboard provides for much presence in any living room due to its sheer size of 265 cm.

About its condition

The sideboard is in excellent and original condition. The top board has a stain on the left side and one of the gliders is missing. As well, the sideboard has some normal small wear overall.
