About the item
SOLD TO NOTTINGHAM, UK
Dutch sculptor, designer and artist Anthony Paul Kingma (1931-2013) has made quite some impressive coffee tables. Like his German peers such as Lilienthal and Rohne and his French peer Roger Capron, a lot of the tables have been made by hand by Kingma. Kingma’s choice for materials was mostly stone and concrete with brass ornaments.
Kingma starts of with a stone foot and a concrete table top frame. This table top frame is then decorated with brass details, coins and different color stones. The table is fully signed, certifying their authenticity. Although Kingma has produced for Fedam (Netherlands) and Kneip (Germany), most of his tables have been produced under own brand name.
In this specific instance, it concerns 2 coffee tables in the same style with a coloured stone foot, concrete top underlay and the mosaic structure. The small table measures 70x70x45 cm and the big table measures 125x75x48 cm.
About its condition
The tables are in a very good general condition with only minor wear on the foot. The large foot has one chip. The mosaic structures are in good condition with only limited wear and the concrete outer edges some slight scratches.
