Description
Large Walnut Wall-Mounted Cabinet by A.A. Patijn for Zijlstra Joure 1950s
SOLD TO THE NETHERLANDS
About the item:
Designed and produced in the 50s for Zijlstra Joure Meubelfabriek by Abraham A. Patijn. Patijn (1922-1985) was a designer who was well-known for his art-deco style of designing, in line with the Amsterdamse School design philosophy. Patijn designed many art-deco sideboards for Zijlstra Joure. In this case it concerns a rare wall mounted unit in a more sober and modern design.
This is the larger edition with one middle folding drawer cabinet and 2 open cabinets (one on top, one below). The unit has the typical Patijn design feature on the outer boards; a striped pattern in the wood.
The unit can be wall mounted but can be placed on the floor as well.
Folding drawer is equipped with separate small cabinet that can be seperately opened through a hinging door.
4 horizontal glas plates and 2 vertical glas plates next to the small cabinet.
The entire unit has been produced out of solid walnut wood and is build extremely well.
The unit is in fully original condition.
