Description

Made to Measure Teak Highboard by Cees Braakman for Pastoe 1960s

SOLD TO BRUGGE, BELGIUM

About the item:

Made to measure highboard by Cees Braakman (1917-1995) for UMS Pastoe Netherlands.

The made to measure series was a series of modular elements that the customer could configure himself according to wish. In contrast to the DB/CB series (birch veneered) and CU/DU series (Japanese series), the Made to Measure series therefore don’t have a model number attached.

The made to measure series can be recognized by the design of the handles and the black and white checkered pattern of the backside. This series has only been delivered in teak veneer while the customer could choose a color pattern of teak-black, teak-white or all teak.

In this case, the original customer chose a highboard fully in teak, with 3 hinging cabinets and 1 folding cabinet with whitened inner board and black metal feet to support the highboard. Every cabinet has 1 inner board.

The original Pastoe sticker is still visible.

About its condition:

The top shelve has soms spots on the teak veneer and the veneer wood has normal patina visible. The item is fully functional without any structural damage anywhere.
