About the item
A unique 2-seater “Settee” sofa by Rainer Daumiller for Hirtshals Savvaerk 1970s.
This sofa is a rare design to come, certainly one of the lesser known designs by Daumiller.
The sofa consists of a solid pine frame with 4 vertical columns. The fabric straps are attached to the frame to provide support. The sofa is upholstered with a separate fabric construction that features a grey fabric with a zipper construction. Therefore, replacement and cleaning of the fabric is easy to do.
The sofa can be used with the upholstered fabric however also without.
The authenticity of the sofa can be proved through archival records.
About its condition
The sofa is in good and original condition, The fabric remains original as well although it has been steam cleaned before sale. 2 of the straps have been repaired as well. The wood has some visible patina, the white bands have some discoloration while the fabric is still in remarkable good condition.
