Description
Teak dutch Modernist armchair
SOLD TO AMSTERDAM (NETHERLANDS)
About the item
This is a very rare dutch modernist armchair, presumably produced in the 1940s for the philips office building designed by the architect j.r. Bouten. The chair came from this decommissioned office building. These chairs were probably commissioned in limited serie by the architect specifically designed and build for this building.
It features a teak frame and a leatherette/skai upholstery in double colours and small buttoned structure. Unknown manufacturer but likely produced in the Netherlands.
About its condition
The chair still has its original upholstery and can be used as such but in order to get a good result reupholstery would be advisable. The teak frame has signs of use but nowhere any structural damage.
